There's no place like home for Meridian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 43-24 victory over the Blaine Borderites on Thursday. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 27-22 win the Borderites walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

A big part of Meridian's victory came down to the chemistry between Pierce Brzozowski and his top target Daniel Larsen. Brzozowski picked up 61 receiving yards and two TDs while Larsen picked up 68 receiving yards and one score.

Meridian's run defense was locked in: Blaine could only muster -0.2 yards per carry. The dominant display was nothing new: the Trojans have now limited their opponent to fewer and fewer yards per carry in three consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Blaine had strong showings from Kai Kerwin, who picked up 129 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and Connor Brown, who threw for 301 yards and four TDs.

With the win, Meridian broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-3. As for Blaine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Meridian will welcome Marysville-Pilchuck at 7:00 p.m. on November 7. As for Blaine, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lakewood at 7:00 p.m. on November 7. The Borderites will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.22 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
