Softball Recap: Durango Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Durango unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 20-14 to the Las Vegas Wildcats on Monday. The Trailblazers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Leiah Biscocho was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Sage Hanson, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Las Vegas' win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

Coincidentally, Durango and Las Vegas will both be playing Cimarron-Memorial the next time they take the field. Las Vegas will head out to face Cimarron-Memorial at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Durango will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on March 13th.
