While McClatchy's win against Antelope wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Titans 5-3. The victory was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on three straight.
Madelyn Ogata spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Jeneyse Morales was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Maia Jacobs, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
McClatchy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matches.
McClatchy's record now sits at 14-4. As for Antelope, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
McClatchy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Antelope, they will square off against Rio Linda at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
