Baseball Recap: Kearny Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game, Kearny was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Gridley Bulldogs by a score of 8-3. That looming 8-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Komets yet this season.

Nicolas Hembera was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Ansel Eaton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Kearny's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Gridley, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-5 record.

Kearny has already played their next contest, a 4-3 defeat against Windward on the 2nd. As for Gridley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-6 win against Washington on the 2nd.
