Softball Recap: Bishop Reicher Catholic Takes a Loss

After flying high against Central Texas Christian two weeks ago, Bishop Reicher Catholic came back down to earth. The Bishop Reicher Catholic Cougars came up short against the Hill Country Christian Rams on Tuesday, falling 23-9.

Lila Jarvies was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Hugalde, who scored a run and stole Two bases. off of a hit.

Even though they lost, Bishop Reicher Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of 1.000. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of 1.000 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Bishop Reicher Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Hill Country Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Bishop Reicher Catholic will square off against Texas Wind at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Texas Wind is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season. As for Hill Country Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against San Marcos Academy at 6:30 p.m. Hill Country Christian knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully San Marcos Academy likes a good challenge.
