It was fun while it lasted, but Kinston's undefeated season came to an end after 22 games on Thursday. They came up short against the Geneva Panthers, falling 56-33. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Geneva had a senior duo take command as Kaden Ward dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards and Cheyenne Hammock posted 19 points and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hammock has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Erika Torres, who earned eight points and eight rebounds.

Kinston's defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 22-1. As for Geneva, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-5.

Kinston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-11 win against Emmanuel Christian on the 31st. As for Geneva, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 99-5 victory against Daleville on the 1st.
