Basketball Recap: Troy Takes a Loss

Troy was the 37-25 winner over West Carrollton when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Troy Trojans lost to the West Carrollton Pirates at home by a 46-30 margin on Saturday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Stephanie Gandy, who went 8 for 13 en route to 21 points and five steals for West Carrollton. Gandy has become a key player for West Carrollton: the team is 4-2 when she posts at least five steals, but 0-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Avia Pittman, who posted 13 points.

Troy's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for West Carrollton, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-16.

Troy has already played their next match (against Miamisburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. West Carrollton will challenge Xenia at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. West Carrollton is facing Xenia at the right time seeing as Xenia is stuck on an 18-game losing streak.
