Football Preview: Bryan Bears vs. Kearney Bearcats
Bryan has been away from home for two games now, but on Friday they'll finally make their return. They will look to take advantage of their home-field as they take on the Kearney Bearcats at 7:00 p.m.
Bryan is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Lincoln East on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Bryan lost 28-8 to Lincoln East. The Bears have struggled against the Spartans recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Kearney entered their tilt with Columbus on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They breezed by the Discoverers at home to the tune of 43-14. The Bearcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Kearney had a senior duo take command as Griffin Novacek threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes and Samuel Nachtigal rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Nachtigal got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 72 yards. Carson Baker made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Friday's match might be decided in the on the ground. Bryan has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 195.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Kearney struggles in that department as they've been averaging 160.6. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Bryan was dealt a bruising 42-3 loss at the hands of Kearney in their previous matchup back in October of 2015.
