After both having extra time off, the Shadow Ridge Mustangs and the Centennial Bulldogs will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Centennial took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Shadow Ridge, who comes in off a win.
Shadow Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Palo Verde, who was ranked eighth at the time (Shadow Ridge was ranked seventh). The Mustangs came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 3-1 on Monday.
Shadow Ridge had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-19.

Shadow Ridge can attribute much of their success to Camden Finlinson, who had 21 digs. Those 21 digs gave Finlinson a new career-high.
Centennial had taken Arbor View down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Aggies by a score of 3-2.
Centennial took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-22, 19-25, 25-18, 15-11.
Shadow Ridge will have to contain Avery Meservey as she made an impact in Centennial's last game. She had 17 digs and four assists.
Centennial has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-12 record this season. As for Shadow Ridge, they pushed their record up to 20-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's matchup: Shadow Ridge has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Centennial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Shadow Ridge was able to grind out a solid win over Centennial in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 2-0. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
