Soccer Game Preview: Rubidoux vs. La Sierra

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Rubidoux duke it out with the La Sierra at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday... Rubidoux's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Rubidoux lost 7-1 to Ramona on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 980th, while the Rams are ranked 429th).

Rubidoux's goal came courtesy of Franco Calvo, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, La Sierra has been on a difficult stretch since their win on January 9. They fell just short of Norte Vista by a score of 2-1 on Monday.

Rubidoux's loss dropped their record down to 2-14-1. As for La Sierra, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10-2.

Rubidoux took their win against La Sierra when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rubidoux since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
