Basketball Recap: 12 Straight Home Victories for Leake Academy

Leake Academy entered their tilt with Wayne Academy on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took their match with ease, bagging a 57-26 victory over the Wayne Academy Jaguars. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Jaguars are ranked 211th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sarah Prince was her usual excellent self, going 5 for 12 en route to 12 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Allen, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 13 points.

Leake Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Leake Academy pushed their record up to 28-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for Wayne Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-23 record this season.
