Baseball Recap: South Hunterdon Comes Up Short

South Hunterdon lost against Princeton back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Eagles fell 8-3 to the Tigers.

South Hunterdon got a good showing from Trevor Sinkus, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Sinkus has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, South Hunterdon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ed Cooper, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

South Hunterdon has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Princeton, with the win, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Hunterdon will venture away from home to challenge Somerset Tech at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Princeton, they will face off against Hamilton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
