Football Recap: Holland Hornets vs. Marlin Bulldogs
Holland and Marlin squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Holland had to settle for second. They were dealt a 51-7 defeat at the hands of the Marlin Bulldogs. The Hornets have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Marlin had a senior duo take command as Roderick Suiters threw for 248 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 passes and Jordan Womack picked up 190 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Womack really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 70 yards.
Holland's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Marlin, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.
Holland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marlin, they will take on Schulenburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Schulenburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Marlin likes a good challenge.
