Basketball Preview: Stone Bridge Bulldogs vs. Potomac Falls Panthers
The Stone Bridge Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Potomac Falls Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of three wins, Stone Bridge's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 48-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Briar Woods. While losing is never fun, Stone Bridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Falcons are ranked third).
Meanwhile, Potomac Falls lost to the Falcons on the road by a decisive 54-39 margin on Friday. Potomac Falls has struggled against the Falcons recently, as their contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Stone Bridge's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4. As for Potomac Falls, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-9.
Stone Bridge beat the Panthers 58-48 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Stone Bridge repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
