Basketball Recap: Himayajo Metoyer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Omaha Westside over Millard South

Omaha Westside was the 52-43 winner over Millard South when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Omaha Westside Warriors lost to the Millard South Patriots on the road by a 46-32 margin on Saturday. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Omaha Westside's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Himayajo Metoyer, who posted ten points. Metoyer has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gueryn Kay, who scored seven points.

Leading Millard South to victory were Aubrey Carder and Abbi Durow. Carder went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points, while Durow went 6 of 9 on her way to 14 points. Ellie Leuschen also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Omaha Westside's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6. As for Millard South, their record now sits at 10-6.

Omaha Westside will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lee's Summit West at 5:30 p.m. Millard South has already played their next game (against Northwest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
