Football Recap: Seabreeze Comes Up Short

Seabreeze managed to keep up with Rockledge until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Sandcrabs were outmatched by the Raiders and fell 47-7. While losing is never fun, the Sandcrabs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 319th, while the Raiders are ranked 105th).

JACE GAINER threw for 28 yards on two of six attempts. On the ground, JEREMIAS GEORGE rushed for 43 yards.

A big part of Rockledge's win came down to the chemistry between Robert Blalock and his top target Elijah Mitchell. Blalock threw for 387 yards and five touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes while Mitchell picked up 230 receiving yards and three scores.

Seabreeze now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Rockledge, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coming up, Seabreeze will face off against Matanzas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Sandcrabs' defense better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 29.8 points per game this season. As for Rockledge, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Deltona at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
