Baseball Recap: Plainville Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Plainville was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They fell 6-2 to the Platt Panthers. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Plainville has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Platt, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainville will venture away from home to take on Edwin O. Smith at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Platt, they will take on Shepaug Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
