Recap: Smoky Mountain Mustangs vs. Brevard Blue Devils
The Smoky Mountain Mustangs's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They came out on top against Brevard by a score of 53-42. That's another feather in the cap for Smoky Mountain, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Anna Mahar was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelyn Mulligan, who scored nine points.
Smoky Mountain's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Brevard, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smoky Mountain and Veritas Christian Academy will face off at 3:00 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Veritas Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Thursday. Brevard and Robbinsville will face off at 12:00 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Robbinsville is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
