While Parklane Academy's victory against Silliman Institute wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Parklane Academy Pioneers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Silliman Institute Wildcats 3-2. The Pioneers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats on Tuesday, too.

Collin Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, Jay Allredge was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Parklane Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. Silliman Institute's loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parklane Academy will face off against Oak Forest Academy at 6:30 p.m. on March 25th. Silliman Institute will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Columbia Academy at 6:30 p.m. on April 1st.
