Recap: Malcolm Clippers vs. York Dukes

After a string of six wins, the Malcolm Clippers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 46-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of York. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Malcolm has scored all season.

Despite the defeat, Malcolm saw an underclassman step up: Halle Dolliver dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 54.5% of Malcolm's points, marking the 14th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kamryn Broders was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead York to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kiersten Portwine, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Kynli Combs, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Malcolm's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for York, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Malcolm won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. Paul at 11:50 a.m. on January 20th. St. Paul is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. York won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against North Platte at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (North Platte is ranked 130th, while York is ranked 112th).
