Baseball Recap: Perry-Lecompton Triumphs

Perry-Lecompton let Hiawatha stack six runs on them in the first inning on Monday but luckily Perry-Lecompton prevailed anyway. The Kaws had just enough and edged out the Red Hawks 11-10. The victory continues a trend for the Kaws in their matchups with the Red Hawks: they've now won six in a row.

The team relied heavily on Kayden Baker, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Caige Starnes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Perry-Lecompton now has a winning record of 8-7-1. As for Hiawatha, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Perry-Lecompton will square off against rival Jefferson West on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hiawatha is set to take on their familiar foe Holton on Thursday.
