Volleyball Recap: Manila Comes Up Short

Manila was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Joseph Jayhawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Manila took St. Joseph into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-9, 25-20, 20-25, 15-12.

Manila's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for St. Joseph, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Manila is taking a road trip to square off against Rangely at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Joseph, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Providence Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
