Volleyball Recap: Manila Takes a Loss

Manila was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Joseph Jayhawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Manila took St. Joseph into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-9, 25-20, 20-25, 15-12.

Manila's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for St. Joseph, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

Manila has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Rangely on the 11th. As for St. Joseph, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Providence Hall on the 7th.
