Soccer Game Preview: Lely vs. Naples

The Lely Trojans will take on the Naples Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lely is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.9 goals per game this season.

Lely is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Bonita Springs by a score of 3-1. The result kept the Trojans happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 3, 2024.

Hassan Ali and Kensly Gedeon scored all three of Lely's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Barron Collier typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Naples proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars, sneaking past 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given the Golden Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Cougars are ranked ninth).

Lely is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-4-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those nine contests. As for Naples, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.
