Softball Game Preview: Westlake Chaparrals vs. Lake Travis Cavaliers

Westlake is 0-10 against Lake Travis since March of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Chaparrals will host the Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Westlake and Bowie have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Chaparrals fell 10-6 to the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Lake Travis unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (5-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Julianna Rodriguez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lake Travis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Pinzon, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Lake Travis, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9-1.
