Basketball Recap: Plain Dealing Comes Up Short

Plain Dealing lost against Arcadia back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Plain Dealing Lions were beaten by the Arcadia Hornets 58-29. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Hornets are ranked 39th).

Plain Dealing's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Arcadia, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 22-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Plain Dealing Lions duke it out with the Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Arcadia, they will challenge Haughton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arcadia's defense has only allowed 25.8 points per game this season, so Haughton's offense will have their work cut out for them.
