Mount Tabor won the last time they faced Davie, and Shaymiah Bailey did her part to make sure it happened again. The Mount Tabor Spartans had just enough and edged the Davie War Eagles out 53-50 thanks in part to Bailey, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game.
Davie's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Madison Daugherty and Avarie Martin. Daugherty posted 14 points, while Martin went 7 of 17 on her way to 17 points. That's the most points Daugherty has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Aderhold, who put up six points.
With the win, Mount Tabor broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7. As for Davie, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-5.
Mount Tabor wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-18 victory against Glenn on the 8th. As for Davie, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 86-28 win against West Forsyth on the 8th.
