Bailey Came Up Big in Sam Houston's 46-21 Loss

Starting off the list is Sam Houston's Drew Bailey, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Bailey rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last six games he's played dating back to last season.

If the past is any indication, Bailey could be in store for another big game when he takes on Carencro on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Bailey saw the Bears), he rushed for 229 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry.

Brodie Depriest Delivers Best Effort of Season

Sulphur was led to victory by Brodie DePriest, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. DePriest rushed for 43 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 139 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.3% of his passes.

With the victory, Sulphur broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3. DePriest and Sulphur will host Southside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Keeping DePriest company is Tyler Joubert, a fellow Sulphur player. He rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 54 receiving yards.
