Baseball Recap: Payton College Prep Grizzlies vs. St. Patrick Shamrocks
After flying high against Ridgewood last Saturday, Payton College Prep came back down to earth. The Payton College Prep Grizzlies fell just short of the St. Patrick Shamrocks by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. Payton College Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Patrick apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2021.
Payton College Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Freddie Matvias, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Payton College Prep's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-16-1. As for St. Patrick, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-22.
As of now, neither Payton College Prep nor St. Patrick have any future games scheduled.
