Baseball Recap: Adams Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Adams brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They blew past the Irving Tigers 11-4 on Friday. The Cougars not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17, 2025 (when they won 16-0).

Justino Chavarria was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Chavarria was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Donovan Cruz was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Martinez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases.

Adams' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Irving, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Adams will take on Azle at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Irving, they will challenge Plano East at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
