Volleyball Recap: John F. Kennedy Takes a Loss

John F. Kennedy lost against Utopia back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rockets fell 2-0 to the Buffaloes.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-15.

Despite the loss, John F. Kennedy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Makalya Aragon had 14 digs and two aces. Aragon is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mia Briseno, who had eight digs and one assist.

John F. Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Utopia, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

John F. Kennedy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Cotulla on the 30th. As for Utopia, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Cole on the 30th.
