Basketball Recap: Sahuarita Triumphs

Sahuarita won the last time they faced Cienega and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Sahuarita Mustangs managed a 53-47 win over the Cienega Bobcats. The Mustangs pushed the score to 53-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bobcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Cienega's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Alysiana Robles, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards, and Amaya Woolford, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. Woolford has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times she's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Sahuarita and bumps their season record up to 7-9. As for Cienega, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sahuarita will host Walden Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cienega, they will be playing at home against Flowing Wells at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Flowing Wells is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season.
