Basketball Recap: Liberty Christian Patriots vs. Alamance Christian Warriors
After a string of four wins, the Liberty Christian Patriots's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 65-44 loss at the hands of Alamance Christian. Liberty Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2021.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nate Young, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Young hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 12 straight games. Ian Sterrett was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Liberty Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Alamance Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Liberty Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wilson Christian Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Alamance Christian, they will head out on the road to take on the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
