Softball Recap: Alpaugh Triumphs

The matchup between Alpaugh and Frazier Mountain on Thursday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Buffalos put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 15-5 victory. With that win, the Buffalos brought their scoring average up to 7.6 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Josefina Guzman, who went 3-for-4 with four runs and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ashley Galindo, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Alpaugh kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Alpaugh's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Frazier Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-3-1.

Alpaugh will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
