Softball Recap: Oswego Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Oswego had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Neuqua Valley Wildcats an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Adalynn Fugitt and Jaelynn Anthony made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Fugitt pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Anthony kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Fugitt has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. At the plate, Fugitt went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Anthony got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Oswego let Ahlivia East and Betsy Jack run wild. East went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Jack went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Maya Zamora also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Oswego kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Oswego's record now sits at 15-8. As for Neuqua Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
