Basketball Game Preview: San Jon Coyotes vs. Corona/Vaughn Cardinals

The San Jon Coyotes will head out on the road to face off against the Corona/Vaughn Cardinals at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 28 consecutive losses dating back to last season for San Jon and nine for Corona/Vaughn.

San Jon is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 32-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clovis Christian. The match was a 13-13 toss-up at halftime, but the Coyotes couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-28, which was the final score in Corona/Vaughn's tilt against Mountainair on Friday.

Corona/Vaughn's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for San Jon, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.

San Jon was taken down by Corona/Vaughn 68-24 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point San Jon was down 38-16.
