Baseball Recap: Gadsden City Comes Up Short on the Road Against Alexandria

Gadsden City kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Alexandria Valley Cubs by a score of 7-5. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Timothy Cash McCoy was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits over four innings pitched. Cash McCoy was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Cash McCoy wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Garner, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Alexandria and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coincidentally, Gadsden City and Alexandria will both be playing Lincoln the next time they take the field. Gadsden City will host Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Alexandria will play them later in the day, at 4:30 p.m.
