Baseball Game Preview: Vardaman Rams vs. West Lowndes Panthers

Vardaman is 9-1 against West Lowndes since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Rams will host the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Vardaman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.

Vardaman's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Calhoun City with a sharp 16-0 victory. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Cooper Easley made a big impact no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Moore, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Grant Parker was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, West Lowndes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Ingomar, falling 15-4.

Vardaman has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for West Lowndes, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Everything went Vardaman's way against West Lowndes when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Vardaman made off with a 29-1 victory. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
