Softball Recap: Winston County Comes Up Short

Winston County was the 14-2 winner over Shoals Christian when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Yellowjackets lost 11-1 to the Flame on Tuesday.

Winston County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maci Blevins, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Winston County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Shoals Christian, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Coming up, Winston County will welcome Covenant Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellowjackets are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Shoals Christian, they will square off against Sheffield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Flame's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
