Basketball Game Preview: Shrine Catholic Knights vs. Divine Child Falcons

The Shrine Catholic Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Divine Child Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Shrine Catholic lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Our Lady of the Lakes, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. Everything went Shrine Catholic's way against Our Lady of the Lakes on Tuesday as Shrine Catholic made off with a 49-25 win. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Divine Child entered their tilt with Bishop Foley on Tuesday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They claimed a resounding 66-16 victory over the Ventures. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th in Michigan, while the Ventures are ranked 549th in Michigan), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shrine Catholic pushed their record up to 11-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Divine Child, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Shrine Catholic came up short against Divine Child when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 45-41. Can Shrine Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
