 After flying high against Murrieta Mesa  last Thursday, Temecula Valley came back down to earth. The Temecula Valley Golden Bears took  a  7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Poly Bears on Saturday. Temecula Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Poly apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in April of 2023.
 Temecula Valley got a good showing from  Chase Hilt, who   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (he also didn't allow any  walks). Hilt has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  a single  hit in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side, Temecula Valley saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ryan Recio, who  went 1-for-2 with a  stolen base and  an  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Marc Guzman, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
 Temecula Valley dropped their record down to 12-7-1 with that  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road. As for Poly, their win  ended  a  five-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 8-13.
 Temecula Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  match,  a  2-0  victory vs. Great Oak on the 15th. As for Poly, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Moreno Valley at 3:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. Poly is facing Moreno Valley at the right time seeing as Moreno Valley is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
