Baseball Recap: Mead Wins Going Away Against Air Academy

It's playoff time, and Mead had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Air Academy Kadets 11-5 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Tucker Boston looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan St Aubin, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Charlie Baker, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

Mead was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Mead's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Air Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10-1 record this season.

Mead will square off against Falcon at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something the Mavericks surely won't give up without a fight. Air Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
