Baseball Recap: Mcminn Central Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

McMinn Central had won six straight at home, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 21-11 to make it seven. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Meigs County Tigers. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

Tyler Oaks made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Ayden Plemons was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

McMinn Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meigs County only posted an OBP of .269.

As for Meigs County, their loss dropped their record down to 18-7. The defeat continues a trend for them in their meetings with McMinn Central: they've now lost eight in a row.

On Meigs County's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Goines, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
