Softball Recap: Greenwood Wildcats vs. Halifax Wildcats

Greenwood extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 16 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-9 in the process. They lost 15-1 to Halifax. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Halifax this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-6 back in March.

Greenwood saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Becca Markel, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Lexi Moore also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

As for Halifax, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7. Considering they have won four games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Halifax's side, Kenzie Readinger was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. Readinger was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bebe Roland, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. Madison Roland was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
