Soccer Game Preview: Walker Valley vs. Notre Dame + How To Watch

The Walker Valley Mustangs will head out to face off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Walker Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

Walker Valley had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the seven-goal drubbing they dealt McMinn County on Tuesday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Cherokees. Bella Martinez was a massive factor in the win as she booted in four goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, after soaring to nine goals the game before, Notre Dame was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They fell just short of Signal Mountain by a score of 2-1.

Walker Valley is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-1-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those nine matchups. As for Notre Dame, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Everything went Walker Valley's way against Notre Dame in their previous meeting back in August of 2022, as Walker Valley made off with a 6-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
