Recap: Flora Wolves vs. Robinson Maroons
The Flora Wolves lost against the Robinson Maroons back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Flora was outmatched by Robinson on the road and fell 61-27. Flora has struggled against Robinson recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Robinson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marisa Zane, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Zane has scored at least 25% of Robinson's points. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Shea, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Flora's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Robinson, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-4.
Flora will head out on the road to face off against Teutopolis at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Teutopolis will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Robinson and Marshall will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Marshall will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 497th, while Robinson is ranked 111th).
