Prospect Mountain is a perfect 3-0 against Newfound Regional since June of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Timberwolves will venture away from home to face off against the Bears at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Prospect Mountain has 12 straight wins, Newfound Regional has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Prospect Mountain made easy work of Somersworth and carried off an 18-3 victory. The Timberwolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Alexis Wilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Prospect Mountain got a massive performance out of Tori Christie, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs, one double, and one RBI. Those five runs gave Christie a new career-high. Paityn Glidden was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Prospect Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Trinity hit Newfound Regional with a five-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bears took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers.
Prospect Mountain's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Newfound Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Prospect Mountain took their win against Newfound Regional in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Timberwolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
