Basketball Game Preview: Goose Creek Gators vs. Beaufort Eagles

Two dominant guards in Madeline Dates and Jania Hayward are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Goose Creek Gators will host the Beaufort Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Goose Creek is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Friday, Goose Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Ridge View, but they still walked away with a 62-58 win.

Goose Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Celeste Griffin led the charge by putting up 12 points and four steals. Aiyanna Moses was another key player, posting 13 points.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Beaufort over Battery Creek in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Dolphins out of the water with a 68-22 final score. The Eagles have beaten the Dolphins the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Dolphins has come to flipping the script.

Goose Creek's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Beaufort, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Goose Creek was able to grind out a solid victory over Beaufort when the teams last played back in November of 2022, winning 41-28. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
