Baseball Recap: Buffalo Has No Trouble Against Wayne

While Buffalo put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Wayne. The Bison were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Pioneers. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bison as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not much got past Luca Signorini, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Wayne off the board. Signorini has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Evan Panaro was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Buffalo is 5-1 when Panaro posts two or more stolen bases, but 9-10 otherwise. Attilio Signorini also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Buffalo's win bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Wayne, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buffalo will host South Charleston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wayne, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Huntington at 6:00 p.m.
