Baseball Recap: Murrieta Mesa Finds Home Field Redemption Against Foothill

There's no place like home for Murrieta Mesa, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Foothill Falcons on Thursday.

Cooper Child tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Murrieta Mesa saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keegan Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. Zach Janczyk was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Murrieta Mesa's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Foothill, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.

Looking ahead, Murrieta Mesa will face off against Chaparral at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 3.6, the Pumas 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Foothill, they will square off against Shadow Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
